The culture form”Gold Capella”from the variety Schefflera Arboricola is a very popular houseplant. The Schefflera belongs to the family of the Araliaceae.
This evergreen plant grows naturally in Taiwan, where the grow in the higher situated areas. Therefor the plant endures a bit colder rooms, especially in the winter the plant can be placed in a cool room. However, “Gold Cappela” likes a moist environment. Make sure that the potting soil becomes not too wet, to prevent the roots from rotting.
The plant can be placed outside in the summer.
Characterizing are the yellow-green leaves on the lower leaves of the handshaped leaves. In contrast to the congener “Compacta” it needs lots of light (not direct sunlight), especially when there are few leavegreen.
This tropical plant is related to the Aracea and needs year round a moistery environment and a warm spot with lots of light.
