Description

A strong and known culture form from the variety Schefflera Arboricola is the “Compacta. The Schefflera belongs to the family of the Araliaceae.

This evergreen plant grows naturally in Taiwan, where the grow in the higher situated areas. Therefor the plant endures a bit colder rooms, especially in the winter the plant can be placed in a cool room. However, “Compacta” needs less light than the “Gold Capella, but likes a moist environment. Make sure that the potting soil becomes not too wet, to prevent the roots from rotting.

The plant can be placed outside in the summer.

Characterizing are the yellow-green leaves on the lower leaves of the handshaped leaves. In contrast to the congener “Golda Cappella”, the “Compacta” it needs not a  of light (not direct sunlight), especially when there are few leavegreen.

This tropical plant is related to the Aracea and needs year round a moistery environment and a warm spot with lots of light.

The Alocasia comes originally from South East Asia.

Place the plant in a spot where it has the space for an optimal tropical feeling.

 

Care

Lots of light, partial shade;  temperature 16 – 18 °C. During the winter period 12-16 °C , avoid cold air.

Potting soil is allowed to dry out a little. Water the plant 2 times per week.

Spray the plant occasionally with water.

During the growth season (spring-summer), fertilize 2 times per month, during the winter 1 time per 2 months.

Our Product Range
We cultivate the Schefflera Arboricola “Gold Capella” in a 19cm pot with mosspole with a length of 80cm, and in a 24cm pot with mosspole with a length of 120cm.
